Alcohol And High Speed Lead To Crash In Lake Elsinore

Edwin Solares, 28, was arrested shortly after 10:30 a.m. on Easter after he crashed near the intersection of Corydon and Mission Trail in Lake Elsinore.

After crashing a 2006 orange Pontiac GTO, a Lake Elsinore man was arrested Sunday for driving under the influence.

Edwin Solares, 28, was arrested shortly after 10:30 a.m. on Easter after he crashed near the intersection of Corydon and Mission Trail in Lake Elsinore.

According to a Lake Elsinore Police Department report, Solares attempted to negotiate a high-speed left turn from Mission Trail onto Corydon and sideswiped a cement pole used to protect a fire hydrant. The GTO came to a rest on Corydon.

During a subsequent police investigation, it was determined that Solares’ driving was alcohol-impaired so he was taken into custody, the police report stated.

Normal non alcoholic people are not drunk at 10:30 a.m., he is lucky he did not kill or injure anyone. I hope his blood alcohol level was high enough to make this a felony.

Oh c'mon. It's Easter for Christ's sake. Can't a guy just celebrate the risen savior in his own special way;-|

Hopefully, the accident was this young mans "ah ha moment", his "wake up call"... Hopefully, he'll realize how blessed he was, that on Easter morning no less, he was spared from hurting himself--and even moreso, from hurting someone else... Hopefully, a year from last Monday, he'll be in an AA meeting, sharing his story and celebrating his first sobriety birthday... Hopefully...
