Alleged Hit-And-Run Driver Arrested In Lake Elsinore

Jonathan Alexander Maldonado, 21, was picked up in the 300 block of N. Poe Street after a warrant for his arrest was issued.

A man was arrested in Lake Elsinore Jan. 11 for allegedly driving under the influence and injuring someone in the process.

Jonathan Alexander Maldonado, 21, was arrested at 10:14 a.m. Friday in the 300 block of N. Poe Street, according to jail records.

The records show Maldonado was involved in a hit-and-run crash that caused death or injury. The records also show he was driving without a license and was under the influence.

According to Deputy Albert Martinez of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Maldonado was picked up after a warrant for his arrest was issued.

Maldonado is being held at Southwest Detention Center in lieu of $150,000 bail; he is due to appear in court Jan. 15, jail records show.
