A Lake Elsinore woman is behind bars for allegedly being in possession of property fleeced from a Temecula man’s home.
An investigation into the case began May 3, when deputies from the Temecula Police Department investigated a grand theft case in the 28500 Block of Elinda Road in Temecula.
According to Riverside County Sheriff’s Sgt. K. McDonald, a man went out to a local bar with some friends and subsequently invited several people he just met at the watering hole to come to his Elinda Road home for more socializing.
The fun ended, however, when the man discovered the next morning that items had been taken from his residence.
Through investigation, deputies from the Temecula Police Department identified a suspect in the case: 21-year-old Desiree Colbert of Lake Elsinore.
The deputies obtained a search warrant for Colbert’s residence on Avocado Way and served it Monday around 2 p.m.
According to McDonald, property from the Temecula theft was recovered during the search and Colbert was arrested for possession of stolen property.
“Additional charges are anticipated,” McDonald said.
