The driver of a beer truck making a delivery to a Lake Elsinore market Friday inadvertently hit a fire hydrant along the way, causing minor flooding on Mission Trail.

The Budweiser truck was being backed up to Cardenas Market when it struck the hydrant shortly after 6 p.m., according to Ramon Marquez, a private security guard who works at the newly opened market at 31904-31960 Mission Trail.

The truck driver was making a beer delivery, Marquez confirmed.

The impact caused the hydrant to burst, and water surged into the air. Mission Trail sustained some minor flooding that quickly receded after an Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District official shut the water off at the hydrant moments after the incident.

There were no injuries reported, and at press time the beer delivery was underway.
