As a resident and forest volunteer I have seen, heard and witnessed a few. This accident is very interesting because the vehicle involved was NOT a Truck but a Dodge Caliber driven by my BROTHER with his son in the car. He's lucky my bother usually drives a lifted truck. They were on their way to my WEDDING when they were being passed by a group of motorcyclists on "Devil's Turn" and then stopped to turn on to Tenaja Truck Trail, that's when the motorcyclist crashed into the back end, pushing the hatchback to the back seat. The accident made me LATE for my wedding living just east of the scene. This is not a race track for weekend worriers, its a scenic highway for those to enjoy a drive, visit friends and family that live on one either side and to stop by the Candy Store or the other establishment here in the Ortega Canyon. I LOVE the 74... Yes it has a speed limit of 55MPH (State Highway), though if you don't want to go that fast then use turn outs. If you want to go fast DON"T TAIL GATE. Its common Respect people...some people have it the others are gonna be Darwin Awards.

We always here about "Motorcyclist hurt on Ortega Hwy" but what about the drivers of the cars that were hit by these weekend worriers that go up and down my and many others "Drive way". My brother and his son with the injuries decided to stay for the ceremony and get a bite to eat though they couldn't handle much more than that. They were taken to the hospital by his wife, my photographer. They had mild concussions, hair line fractured wrist and whiplash.
