The squabble was between the man and a family member, but a group of three other people in the area thought he was yelling at them, police reported.

The three, described as black males, confronted the man. The situation escalated when the man’s mother intervened and one of the males punched her, police reported.

Tensions intensified when the victim defended his mother and was also punched by the suspect, according to police. In addition to the blow, the suspect cut the man. The victim was treated by Cal Fire at the scene and later transported to Inland Valley Medical Center for additional treatment, police reported.

The alleged stabber fled the scene and is described as a black male adult, 18 to 21 years of age, 5’08” to 5’09” with close-cropped hair and a muscular build.
