Brawl Breaks Out In Lake Elsinore: Mom And Son Injured

Police are looking for a black male adult, 18 to 21 years of age, 5’08” to 5’09” with close-cropped hair and a muscular build.

A man was punched and stabbed -- and his mother punched -- in Lake Elsinore, and police are seeking the public’s help in finding the suspect.

According to a report from the Lake Elsinore Police Department, the incident occurred Saturday on the shoreline near W. Lakeshore Drive and S. Kellogg Street.

The investigation showed that a 21-year-old man was swimming in Lake Elsinore with several members of his family and friends when “a verbal altercation ensued.”

The squabble was between the man and a family member, but a group of three other people in the area thought he was yelling at them, police reported.

The three, described as black males, confronted the man. The situation escalated when the man’s mother intervened and one of the males punched her, police reported.

Tensions intensified when the victim defended his mother and was also punched by the suspect, according to police. In addition to the blow, the suspect cut the man. The victim was treated by Cal Fire at the scene and later transported to Inland Valley Medical Center for additional treatment, police reported.

The alleged stabber fled the scene and is described as a black male adult, 18 to 21 years of age, 5’08” to 5’09” with close-cropped hair and a muscular build.

Anyone with further information regarding this incident is urged to contact Detective Pelato at the Lake Elsinore Police Department at (951) 245-3300 or after hours and on weekends at (951) 776-1099.

The article says her son jumped to her defense and he was hit and "cut" then the cowards took off.
Roberto July 22, 2012 at 05:45 PM
The article should have read White Woman attacks young Black man who defends himself by punching her in the stomache. It's all about PC these days

Who said these people were even from Elsinore. People come to pee in our Lake from everywhere. I'd bet alcohol was involved.
Lillian Honorah Lavelle July 22, 2012 at 06:44 PM
Vince you are one of the problems here. Stay focused. Illegal's are the cause of over a hundred gangs in Elsinore? No ignorant people that's the problem.
Vince July 22, 2012 at 07:18 PM
Thanks Lillian, I do make a difference it seems!!! My dear, sweet, gray haired Mammy would be so proud....'ceptin' she's takin' a Dirt Nap.

Just a bunch of miscreants out for harm! Tell me, "What kind of a MAN, punches a woman?" It really doesn't make any difference what race the three offenders were! Rules apply here. Mind your own business. It just so happens that the three offenders were "Young Black Males!" Someone probably "dissed" them and they were forced to seek vengence for 300 years of slavery or some other assanine reason. Give me a break, getting sick and tired of reports of Hispanic and Black groups, kicking people to death because they were dissed! How can you "Dis" a culture who runs in packs, attacks single victims with 3-5 people, vandalizes anything they can cover with a can of spray paint! Yeah right! You're disrespected. Your all PIGS, unworthy of respect!
Roberto July 22, 2012 at 07:21 PM
Trying to splain the gang problem is impossible as most people don't understand it. Just like the cycle of poverty, gangs have the same ability to go on into 2nd, 3rd etc. generations. Not all gang members are Mexican anymore than all non-gang members are white. Workfare for the parents and intervention at a young age will give a child the best chance of escaping this cycle. Once in the system, it's usually to late.
JMarie July 22, 2012 at 07:25 PM
No, it's not the education, it is the allowing the gang activity to grow, When I first moved here in 1986, it was a safe place to live. Within 10 years, it wasn't.
JMarie July 22, 2012 at 07:27 PM
and, where was Park Security??
Cat July 22, 2012 at 07:47 PM
Not to sound like a broken record.....but where I live everyone is armed & everyone knows this. A stupid little altercation like this would never happen because everyone automatically knows that its not worth risking your life. An armed society is indeed more polite. With this being the norm, people are also becoming more 'color' blind. Just an observation from a civilized town.........

Kevin, I really enjoy your posts since you apologized to Martha. You don't jump to conclusions, and you don't prejudge,. Now that's progress. lol. Have a great weekend.
Cat July 22, 2012 at 08:12 PM
@Ray A, you're entitled to your opinion just like everyone & forgive me for jumping in......but......Kevin never even NEEDED to apologize to Martha. He was just being a gentlemen! You commend him for not "prejudging" then you turn around and judge his "PROGRESS" ????? I don't get it???? Martha has been called out on more things than anyone else here, yet still isn't lady enough to apologize herself. (At this point, no one expects that anymore either.) By all accounts, she certainly does not even deserve an apology from any one.I can only surmise that some folks on here, due to their own situations, take the Patch more seriously than others. Sometimes when they feel like their "standing" is being threatened, they resort to 'gang banging.' Kevin has important & interesting things to say too. Sometimes people are actually provoked into calling names. Almost everyone has done that to varying degrees. It takes a REAL PERSON to apologize when they are actually wrong. I still don't think Kevin ever was and he certainly showed her up anyway. Kevin; NEVER aplogize for what you think. Gangbangers; stop trying to get people angry enough to quit posting just so that you feel more secure in your 'standings'. Again, this is not a competition.

@JMarie, In 1968 I first came out to LE from Buena Park with my friends to watch the motorcyle races just outside of town. We were warned by our parents to be careful because of the fact that LE was known for being a place for trouble and violence. Since that time I have never know it to be otherwise.
Cat July 22, 2012 at 10:21 PM
@Vince...its a closely guarded secret. If I told you, then I'd have to shoot you! :~)

The name of new anthem I thought would by "candyman" because thats what this idiot we have for a president promises but when all the talking is said and done its the pot at the end of the rainbow that never materializes. Its a reflection of leadership we have had candidates like McGovern who was going to get on his knees and beg North Vietnam for peace. Its been like that for 40 years sitcom wussy men not leaders. With Eisenhower in 48 he didn't engage politicians he knew how often they wimp out instead like Theodore Roosevelt who chose a military man to build the Panama Canal Eisenhower chose a general to deport all the overstaying illegals in one sweep and he didn't halfheartedly drop them off at the border he put them in ships to be sent back way back where they originated from and it worked is why the 50s and 60s were pristine and clean but we haven't had that type of leadership since then.

Helen July 23, 2012 at 03:53 AM
Ha! Ain't no brawl....just difference of opinion is all. :)
Vince July 23, 2012 at 04:18 AM
Awww Helen...Chicks don't "brawl" like reg'lar people---next thing you two will be picking on each other's lip-stick color, hair-do's, and prolly even how the other's azz looks "SO BIG" in jeans...ain't my first Bar-be-que lady, so I do know where this battle's headed!!
Helen July 23, 2012 at 04:29 AM
(*chuckle*)....maybe so, Vince. I kinda doubt it would go that far though. She's just "passionate" about her beliefs and believe or not I actually respect her for it. But lordy....that would be too much if it did get that far though. :)
Constant Comment July 23, 2012 at 04:46 AM
Somehow by the looks of things I don't think that Cat would ever stoop so low as to get down and dirty.
Anthony July 23, 2012 at 05:21 AM
Vince cracks me up!
Vince July 23, 2012 at 05:39 AM
Gosh Anthony...I gotta say, IF I were "light in my loafers" your comment would pretty much do it for me....but since I'm not, I doubt there will be a meeting offered for an over coffee, crack you up in person sorta dealio...But hey, thanks for ALMOST making my day---And trust me, I mostly crack me up too!!
Ray A July 23, 2012 at 09:26 AM
Cat, I meant no offense. My comment had nothing to do with Martha. It was meant as a compliment to Kevin.
Richard July 23, 2012 at 02:23 PM
" ya need some kinda help "
Tracey Casey July 23, 2012 at 03:14 PM
Anyone know what was going on in the Stater Brothers parking lot on Lakeshore Saturday night?
Cat July 23, 2012 at 04:41 PM
@Ray A, I know that. I was just adding 'my comment' about the fact that 'I thought' there wasn't a need to 'apologize' in the first place. No offense taken at all. :~)

I lived across the street from the public beach for 8 years, the same area where this incident occurred. In the Summer time this area is actually an explosion waiting to happen. The beach is over crowded with people from all ethnic backgrounds who blast there music and spend most of the day drinking and having a good time. All it takes is for one person to think that they are 12 feet tall and bullet proof to start a huge major brawl in a time bomb situation such as this area. The police patrol the Lake like crazy but there is hardly ever any police presence on the beach area. In eight years I saw police on quads and horseback about twice, this area is a huge public safety time bomb waiting to explode. The City is aware and do nothing to provide security, these folks set up there little picnic areas starting at 3AM on Holiday weekends and stay until after midnight and yet nothing is done to support the park rules, not to mention the traffic nightmare, another unplanned area for the City and Park people.
