Brush Fire Breaks Out on Santa Rosa Plateau
The blaze, right outside of La Cresta, was estimated at five acres as of 11:25 a.m. Wednesday.

Firefighters were on the scene of a seven-acre brush fire Wednesday on the Santa Rosa Plateau west of Murrieta.
The "Volcano" fire was reported at 11:25 a.m. near Tenaja Road and Via Volcano, just outside La Cresta, according to CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department.

The blaze was spreading at a moderate rate of spread, according to Melody Hendrickson, a spokesperson for CAL FIRE.
One structure is threatened and a captain on scene is saying the blaze has the potential to expand to 100 acres.
