Canyon Lake Resident Killed In Crash

Robert Kercheval, 81, of Canyon Lake was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:35 a.m. Friday.

The driver who died after plummeting his car 30 feet down an embankment on Railroad Canyon Road in Lake Elsinore Friday has been identified.

Robert Kercheval, 81, of Canyon Lake was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:35 a.m. Friday.

There were no other injuries reported.

A daylong full closure of westbound Railroad Canyon Road was in effect due the fatal crash that was reported to Cal Fire at 10:18 a.m. Friday, east of the 15 Freeway, between Church and Canyon Hills roads.

Due to the difficult terrain where Kercheval’s 2006 gray Buick landed, the crash investigation and subsequent recovery took all day and forced a delayed closure of Railroad Canyon. The shutdown snarled traffic throughout Canyon Lake and eastern Lake Elsinore.

Alyse, i suppose cause you're new to posting here that you are unaware of the few sickos that hide behind their keyboards & spew out their crap just to get some attention. Sadly, such is the case here. Just ignore this idiot. He is NOT worth your time. Forget about this loser. So sorry about your loss. I hope in time, you will look back on your Grandpa, not with grief but with all of the good memories of the times that you got to spend together. Take good care.
