Cement Truck, Train Collide in Corona; One Dead

The driver of a cement truck was killed when a Burlington Northern Santa Fe freight train struck his vehicle near a golf course in Corona, officials said Saturday.

The driver, identified as Michael Cole, 55, of Ontario, was heading south on Green River Road when he collided with the freight train behind the Green River Golf Course at 12:35 p.m. Friday, the San Bernardino County Coroner's Office said.

The train was delayed for several hours as coroner's and sheriff's authorities investigated the accident, the Corona Fire Department reported.
