Coroner IDs Woman Ejected During Fatal Rollover Crash

Perris resident Jennifer Varela, 35, died early Sunday morning.

A Perris driver who was killed in a Labor Day weekend crash has been identified, according to the coroner’s office.

Jennifer Varela, 35, died early Sunday morning when she veered off Cajalco Road in Perris. 

According to the Riverside County Coroner’s Office, Varela went off the road in an SUV about 100 feet west of Barton Street for “unknown reasons.”

The crash was reported at 2:07 a.m. and Varela was pronounced dead moments later at 2:19 a.m.

According to the coroner’s office, when Varela veered off the roadway, she lost control of the vehicle and rolled.

Varela was not wearing a safety belt and was ejected from the SUV, according to the coroner’s office.
