UPDATE: Crash Closes Bundy Canyon In Wildomar

The crash was reported at 4:57 a.m. just east of the 15 Freeway.

An early morning crash Wednesday on Bundy Canyon Road in Wildomar forced the street’s closure.

The two-vehicle crash was reported at 4:57 a.m. just east of the 15 Freeway at Oak Canyon Drive. At press time, Bundy Canyon is still closed in both directions.

Two people were trapped in the wreckage and were rescued by Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department personnel.

Both victims were transported via ground ambulance to the hospital; one suffered major injuries, the other had moderate injuries, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.

According to Deputy Albert Martinez of the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, investigators are onscene reconstructing the crash. The road is scheduled to reopen at approximately 12:30 p.m. today.

Martinez said it was too early to say what may have caused the crash.
