Crash Closes Ortega Highway Saturday Morning

At 9:03 a.m., CHP reported the roadway was open in both directions.

The Ortega Highway was partially blocked today by a crash west of Lake Elsinore, where a vehicle struck a guardrail.

Paramedics, firefighters and the California Highway Patrol were at the scene of a crash on the Ortega (74) Highway, just east of the San Juan Fire Station, on the Orange County side.

The condition of the motorist or any possible passengers were not immediately known, said a dispatcher with the Orange County Fire Authority.

The CHP was notified of the crash. A SigAlert was issued at 8:33 a.m. closing the eastbound and westbound lanes for 30 minutes.
