Deputies Find Pot and Firearms During Domestic Violence Investigation

A Lake Elsinore man was arrested Friday night after his wife said he assaulted her.

Deputies responding to a domestic violence call Friday night arrested a 53-year-old Lake Elsinore man after finding several jars of marijuana and concentrated cannabis, as well as firearms and ammunition, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

Antonio Garcia Gonzalez was detained around 8 p.m. after his wife reported that he had assaulted her and was possibly armed, according to Sgt. David Cardoza. Deputies detained Gonzalez at the residence in the 18000 block of Dexter Avenue and arrested him after it was determined that he had physically abused his wife, according to Cardoza.

While they were at the house, deputies confiscated five rifles, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, storage jars containing marijuana and concentrated cannabis, digital scales, drug paraphernalia and $700 in cash, according to Cardoza.
