The driver of a car that drove off Interstate 15 just north of the Diamond Drive offramp and overturned Saturday night was rescued from the wreckage by firefighters, according to the Highway Patrol.
The solo male driver suffered minor to moderate injuries and alcohol is not suspected of being a factor in the crash, a Highway Patrol officer at the scene told Patch.
Witnesses told officers that the driver was travelling southbound between 70 and 80 mph in the fast lane just after 5 p.m. when he suddenly veered to the right across all traffic lanes and into roadside brush. The Honda overturned, trapping the driver inside, according to the CHP.
The driver was transported to a hospital after being rescued by firefighters. His name and condition have not been released.
