Fallen Firefighters To Be Honored
The dedication ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. just west of the Ortega on South Main Divide near the El Cariso fire station. Signs will be posted to direct traffic.
A memorial honoring more than 200 firefighters, dozer operators, pilots and others who died battling wildfires in California will be formally dedicated Saturday near Lake Elsinore off the Ortega Highway.
The dedication ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. just west of the Ortega on South Main Divide near the El Cariso fire station. Signs will be posted to direct traffic.
Riverside County Supervisors Bob Buster and Jeff Stone will join county fire Chief John Hawkins and family members of fire personnel killed in the line of duty for the ceremony.

The event marks the completion of the California Wildland Firefighter Memorial, which has been in progress since 1995.
