Fire Engulfs Corona Home, $200K Damage

The fire at the single-family home in the 9400 block of Stone Canyon Road was reported at 2:40 p.m. Saturday.

Five people were displaced -- two of them children -- in a blaze that destroyed a two-story home in Corona, causing an estimated $200,000 in damages, Cal Fire officials said.

No injuries were reported in the fire Saturday in the 9400 block of Stone Canyon Road.

Firefighters called to the scene about 2:40 p.m. found the single-family home engulfed in flames, according to Cal Fire's Melody Hendrickson.

It took 26 firefighters a little more than an hour to knock down the fire, she said.

Red Cross was called in to assist the residents with temporary housing and other needs, Hendrickson said.
