Firefighters Stamp Out Blaze In Abandoned Building Off Highway 74

Firefighters quickly doused a fire that burned an abandoned building and nearby brush in unincorporated area off Highway 74 this afternoon.

The non-injury fire was reported about 2:25 p.m. in the 27700 block of Highway 74, west of Good Hope and east of Lake Elsinore.

When firefighters arrived, the 1,000-square-foot building and vegetation were burning, but crews swiftly contained the blaze, Riverside County Fire Department spokesman Mark Annas reported.
