Deputies were seeking the shooter, who remained outstanding, Jodi Miller of the sheriff's Public Affairs Division said.
Posted 3:33 p.m. A person was wounded by gunfire Tuesday night on Base Line north of Redlands and Loma Linda, according to Highland Station deputies.
The shooting was reported about 10:05 p.m. Oct. 23 in the 25500 block of Base Line, according to the Sheriff's Department.
"Deputies from the Highland Police Department were investigating a burglary when they heard several gunshots coming from the 25500 block of Baseline Street," a sheriff's statement said.
Deputies found the victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, and evidence of the shooting was located on Base Line near Golondrina Drive, Highland Station personnel said.
"The victim sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital for treatment," deputies said.
The victim was not identified by age, gender or hometown.
