Head of CHP Presents Award to Temecula Area Office

California Highway Patrol's Temecula Area Office was recognized Nov. 6 for its superior efforts in promoting motorcycle safety.

California Highway Patrol Commissioner Joe Farrow was in Temecula this week to recognize the men and women of CHP who serve southwest Riverside County.

Temecula CHP earned this year's California Law Enforcement Challenge special award for its superior efforts in promoting motorcycle safety.

Local efforts include enhanced awareness, education and enforcement campaigns, said Temecula CHP Officer Nathan Baer, in a news release.

Commissioner Farrow and CHP Border Division Assistant Chief Esmeralda Falat presented the award Nov. 6 to Temecula Area CHP Capt. Ernie Sanchez, his staff and his officers.

"(We are) dedicated to providing safety, service, and security to the people who live and travel through the 900 square miles of southwest Riverside County which they patrol," Baer said.

After the event, Temecula Area’s 685 Squad Club presented a check for $6,000 to the CHP 11-99 Foundation, a nonprofit that since 1981 has given $21 million in assistance to current, retired and Fallen in the Line of Duty CHP employees and their families. The money was raised through the club’s 20th Annual Golf Classic.

Wow...such harsh words about people (CHP officers) whose job is to keep us safe. They put their lives on the line and some of them lose their lives. My boyfriend was a CHP officer killed in the line of duty by a drunk driver.

Sorry about the loss .But if he was a cop that remained obedient to his oath . He is in heaven .But if he was not then may God have mercy on his soul .Like the bad cops that are ever present . Do they not realize that the oath they took if not takin seriously and they abuse their authority can go to hell .They take an oath to treat all ppl with mercy compassion and justly . But too many of them dont .So I pray that the hand of God will deal with them harshly for disobeying their oaths .

I'm pretty sure that radar units don't determine the make or model of a vehicle...only the speed.

Hats off to the Temecula CHP! Great group of officers!!! And Teller of Truth... I've asked that same question to a CHP officer once. His very polite answer was... "when you go fishing, do you catch them all at the same time?" Things that make you go hmmm... And 92595... CHP only gets revenue for from vehicle registrations. Citation revenue goes to the city whose jurisdiction the ticket was written in. Be safe everyone and have an awesome thanksgiving.
