How is this breaking news?
LHJ September 16, 2012 at 07:02 PM
I was going to ask the same thing. Odd, a follow-up story winds up "breaking news", when it is an update that has no significant or catastrophic changes to the original event. Oh well, I guess we learn that even the Patch is all about sensationalizing ...

It's breaking news because now the community has a name to put with this unfortunate accident. Many riders come from all over the area to participate in these events. If you didn't make it out that day, then you might not know who this accident happened to. It is also a health condition update as there were some confused people on the previous blog that were not sure why a 'coroner' was even mentioned. I, for one, appreciate the update! Thank you Mirna!

So many negative people! I have been waiting to hear this update and have friends as well wanting to know who the rider is and his condition. So happy to hear he is still here with us, still praying for him and his family. My son races and I know the fear and worry of having a loved one injured. The motocross community is very close and many are praying!!

I was there as a spectator and it was one of the worst I've seen in all the years at these events, I wish we could get an update but my thoughts and prayers go out to the family... The track staff handled the situation very carefully and very thoughtfully glad to see a charity race is planned for Chase the next two weekends...
Gonzalo verduzco September 18, 2012 at 03:27 AM
Julie Qwayne is there anyway I can get your email. I'm one of Chases' best friends and was wondering how the crash happened. His dad didnt see it do he didn't tell me much.

Heavenly Father, please lay your healing hand on Chase, Lord. He is your son and through you all things are possible. We ask that you bring complete healing to Chase and his family Lord. Lay your hand on him and his family and give them comfort and strength. Please forgive those who respond with negativity as they are not affected by this tragic accident. The motocross industry is 1 huge family and always reaches out to one another in times of need, and we lean on you for strength. I ask that you soften the hearts of the readers, so that they to will learn the power that you are, and give to us. In Jesus's name, AMEN!!!! The Trophy Junkies Team was at the races that day, we have 5 kids racing and all of us are praying for Chase. The effect that these tragic accidents have on our motocross family is always hard, but we always pull through together. These riders go out and do what they love to do, practicing and racing hard, striving for that #1 plate and to do there very best. Lucas Oil MX Park, Thanks for starting a fund and dedicating the next two races to Chase and his family. Please continue to lift our brother to our father and ask for his complete healing and continue to share the story so more funds can be raised for this young man and his family.

I was told Sunday evening by his motorcross friends that Chase passed away from his injuries, is this correct?
Teller of Truth September 18, 2012 at 06:17 PM
I've read 10 positive comments & 1 inquiring question. Who are "ALL these negative people" that you you speak of? I only see one insensitive jerk: LHJ. So the ENTIRE comments section shouldn't be lumped in with him.

I am the owner of the track and Chase has not passed he is still on the breathing machine but he had major head trauma and no oxygen for 45 min. please keep the Alessandro family in your prayers. Chase is a good kid and it was a joy to have him at the track. we will be doonating the money from the next 2 races to the family and have gotten some cool stuff from the industry to raffle and help raise more money. and if you cant make it to the track but still want to help the family here is the paypal info ... onestopcnc@juno.com

Well said Gabriel. We were there too and it was very difficult just to be on the sidelines. I cant imagine the pain the family is going through now. Its especially challenging when you have all the young children around to explain this tragic accident. We didn't know him personally but there is a connection we all share on these Saturday's. We shall continue to offer support to the family by finishing the series in honor of Chase. Peace to his family and friends.
