Injury Accident Shuts Down Traffic On Temescal Canyon Road

According to CHP, the accident occurred shortly after 9:30 p.m. on Temescal Canyon Road, just east of the 15 Freeway.

4/30 UPDATE 11 p.m.: Two people were injured Saturday night after the vehicle they were in crashed on Temescal Canyon Road in Lake Elsinore.

According to CHP, the single-vehicle accident occurred shortly after 9:30 p.m. on Temescal Canyon Road, just east of the 15 Freeway at Temescal Canyon Road and Park Canyon Drive.

The vehicle overturned and landed upsidedown on Temescal Canyon Road. Traffic was blocked on the roadway in both directions as Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department and Corona Fire worked to extricate the victims from the vehicle.

A male driver was transported to a local hospital; the extent of his injuries is unknown.

Witnesses at the scene report one female passenger was also rescued from the vehicle and transported to a local hospital. The extent of her injuries is unknown.

CHP reported the vehicle to be a Mazda CX-7.

Traffic on Temescal Canyon Road will continue to be blocked until approximately midnight, according to the CHP.

The cause of the accident is under investigation; alcohol is not suspected, according to CHP.

4/30 ORIGINAL POST: Traffic is blocked on Temescal Canyon Road as Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department and Corona Fire work to rescue a male trapped in a vehicle that has overturned and landed on its roof.

According to CHP, the accident occurred shortly after 9:30 p.m. on Temescal Canyon Road, just east of the 15 Freeway at Temescal Canyon Road and Park Canyon Drive in Corona.

The vehicle is a Mazda CX-7, according to CHP.

Witnesses at the scene report one female passenger was rescued from the vehicle and transported to a local hospital. The extent of her injuries is unknown.

The male driver is still trapped in the vehicle with serious injuries.
