Lake Elsinore Apartment Complex Catches Fire

An apartment complex in Lake Elsinore caught fire this afternoon, but firefighters quickly contained the blaze to an attic, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Melody Hendrickson.

The fire was reported at 121 S. Spring Street at 1:56 p.m., Hendrickson said.

The first firefighters on scene reported that a single unit in an apartment complex had smoke coming out of the attic, Hendrickson said.

But by 2:18 p.m., the blaze was contained to the attic of two units, Hendrickson said.

No one was injured during the fire, which is under investigation.
