Lake Elsinore Little League Quad Stolen

Lake Elsinore Little League Treasurer Ralph Swick said the league's 2005 Mule was stolen from a locked storage facility located at Swick-Matich Park the night of Feb. 19.

Only a few weeks after Storm Baseball announced that Thunder’s quad had been pilfered, Lake Elsinore Little League has reported that its Kawasaki Mule has been stolen too.

Lake Elsinore Little League Treasurer Ralph Swick said the league’s 2005 Mule was stolen from a locked storage facility located at Swick-Matich Park the night of Feb. 19.

The Lake Elsinore Little League quad doesn’t have any particular distinguishing features: It’s Kawasaki green, has a black role bar, four wheels, and a tool bed in back, Swick explained.

“It’s not a recreational vehicle; it’s a work vehicle,” he said.

The quad is used by Lake Elsinore Little League to haul equipment and will be sorely missed on the league’s Opening Day, March 3, at McVicker Park, Swick continued.

“The funny thing is, nothing else was taken,” Swick said of the Feb. 19 burglary. The thief, or thieves, left behind Little League equipment, as well as equipment kept in the quad’s tool bed, he said.

Anyone with information on the stolen vehicle is encouraged to contact the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station at (951) 245-3300. Swick said a police report has been filed at the station, which is located across the street from the fields where the quad was stolen.

By getting the word out about the stolen Mule, Swick is hoping Lake Elsinore Little League will get its vehicle back.

“They got Thunder’s back,” he said.
