Lake Elsinore Man Dies After Ortega Highway Crash

The 37-year-old man suffered fatal injuries along the Ortega Highway when he crashed his motorcycle for unknown reasons.

A motorcyclist riding on the Ortega Highway in Lake Elsinore rolled over during a turn, slammed into a rock embankment, and later died of his injuries, authorities report.

The motorcyclist, identified by coroner's officials as Bryan Yang, 37, of Lake Elsinore, was traveling east on the Ortega Highway at about 2:37 p.m. Friday when he tried making a right turn about 4.6 miles west of Grand Avenue, the California Highway Patrol reported.

Yang failed to negotiate the turn, overturned and slid across the westbound side of the roadway and crashed into the embankment. Yang was taken to Inland Valley Medical Center and died of his injuries at 3:40 p.m., according to the Riverside County Coroner's Office.

It was not immediately known whether alcohol played a role in the crash as it was under investigation, the CHP reported.
