A 32-year-old Lake Elsinore man who was walking home from a Canyon Lake tavern early Saturday morning was struck and killed by a motorist who failed to stop at the scene, and police are looking for that driver.

Scott Bolger was pronounced dead at 2:22 a.m., according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department coroner’s office. He was found on Railroad Canyon Road, 245 feet west of Canyon Lake Drive South in Canyon Lake, the report stated.

Bolger stepped off the sidewalk and into the eastbound number three lane of Railroad Canyon Road where he was struck by a vehicle, according to a report from sheriff’s Sgt. J.P. Strang.

“The driver of the vehicle failed to remain at the scene,” Strang continued.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is encouraged to call Deputy Rabago at the Perris Sheriff’s Station, (951) 210-1000.

Is the number 3 lane closest to the edge of the road, or closest to the center double yellow line? trying to picture this.....

My husband was a good man who loved much and laughed often. May he rest in peace and bask in our lords light. I know accidents happen, but I BEG of you to turn yourself in. He did not deserve to be left in the street without even a second thought. He was a new father of 8 month old twins who will never know the man he was. May God give me strength to bare this lose and keep his mememory alive. If anyone knows anything , please contact the authorities

The man that was hit and killed was a father, a husband, a brother and a veteran of this country. Scott served his tour in Kosavo in the late 90's. The fact is he was my little brother 5 years my junior. He had 7 month old twins at home and was adored by his family. I ask that anyone who has information related to my brother contact the police.

Our prayers go out to the family. A similar incident occurred almost exactly a year ago.

I lived with Scott for the better part of a year in Kosovo. He was a great and kind man, always the first to laugh. He will be missed.

It is extremely dark through that corridor and drivers average speeds from 45 to 60 going through there and at this time of night odds are it was an impaired driver that struck and killed this good citizen of our country. I hope the cameras that are posted atop the intersection lights there are able to shed some light on this horrific accident.
