Lake Elsinore Man's Alleged Ruckus Lands Him In Jail

John Mejia, 23, was arrested Thursday night.

A Lake Elsinore man is behind bars for allegedly injuring a deputy from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

John Mejia, 23, was arrested shortly after 7 p.m. Thursday near the JP Morgan Chase Bank in the 31500 block of Canyon Estates Drive for being under the influence, resisting arrest, delay, obstruction, and battery on a peace officer.

According to a news release from Riverside County Sheriff’s Sgt. Tony Hoxmeier, deputies were called to the scene due to reports of “a man yelling and screaming in front of a business and displaying signs of being under the influence of a narcotic.”

The man was later identified as Mejia.

“While attempting to detain the suspect, he became physical with officers and one officer was injured during the struggle,” the sergeant reported. “The suspect continued to resist officers and a K-9 was deployed.”

Deputies were able to restrain Mejia and he was taken into custody.

If you will not act in adult fashion, stay home. As for the collectives, they will just go underground again, those people who really need and use the drug as perscribed will just have to drive further. Of course to support the gas companies as well.

So I guess all the mentally challenged people that live in our town are suppose to stay off the streets and lock themselves at home???????? Well sad to say but that would sure leave our sidewalks and streets empty.

Hey how About this for an idea ..... Put his ass in a friggen mental hospital before his drug induced mental fits end up killing someone. And btw i love how ppl blame the police for everything. Instead of whining and bitching about it why dont you become a cop and see how much better you can do. (Probably not much, if any at all) so until you have done a police officers job dealing w douchebags, keep you pie holes shut! And thats how i feel about it Oh yeah, his fam probably lets him run around because they are probably hoping the police will kill him so they can sue the county and get $$$ money. Gosh Im good!

According to the Press Enterprise: Court records show Mejia pleaded guilty Dec. 21 to two misdemeanors in connection with the Sept. 26 incident — being under the influence of a controlled substance and resisting arrest.
