Lake Elsinore Man Stabbed, Police Arrest Suspect

A fight at a party resulted in a 21-year-old man being stabbed four times, according to a sheriff's sergeant.

An early morning stabbing in Lake Elsinore has led to an arrest, police are reporting.

Vincent Lopez, 21, of San Jacinto was arrested Thursday on suspicion of stabbing a 21-year-old Lake Elsinore man in a residential neighborhood located at Nebraska Street and Lakeshore Drive, according to Sgt. Steve Brosche of the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies from the Lake Elsinore Police Department responded to the scene around 1:46 a.m. Thursday after receiving reports of a fight at a party there, Brosche said. When deputies arrived, they found an injured man with multiple stab wounds, the sergeant reported.

Upon investigation, it was determined Lopez was a suspect in the stabbing.

"Lopez and another male arrived at the party in an attempt to locate a younger female relative. A fight broke out during which Lopez stabbed another male four times," Brosche said.

Lopez was booked into the Southwest Detention Center for an assault causing great bodily injury, according to Brosche. The victim, whose name was not released, was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for his wounds.

There were no other arrests reported from the incident.
