Lake Elsinore Police Arrest 2 In Stabbing, Baseball Bat Beating

Lake Elsinore residents Lynn Marie Jackson, 32, and Charles Michael Bustamante, 37, are each accused of assault with a deadly weapon.

Two people have been arrested following a violent confrontation in Lake Elsinore.

Lake Elsinore residents Lynn Marie Jackson, 32, and Charles Michael Bustamante, 37, are each accused of assault with a deadly weapon.

According to a report from Sgt. Kenneth Chaffin who serves out of the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station, the incident began Sunday around 6:30 p.m. when a 30-year-old Lake Elsinore man visited Jackson in the 400 block of Lakeshore Drive to give her money.

“Soon after arriving at the location, the victim became involved in a verbal argument with Jackson,” Chaffin’s report reads.

For unknown reasons, Jackson grabbed a knife and stabbed the man, according to Chaffin’s report. The stab wounds were described by the sergeant as non-life threatening.

The relationship between Jackson and the man, whose identity was not released by police, was described as “former” acquaintances by Chaffin.

Shortly after the alleged stabbing, Bustamante appeared with a baseball bat, and began beating the man, Chaffin’s report continued.

Jackson and Bustamante fled the scene, but were found a short time later – Jackson was arrested in the unincorporated area of Goodhope and Bustamante was found in Murrieta, according to Chaffin’s report. 

The pair are each being held at Southwest Detention Center in lieu of $25,000 bail.
