Lake Elsinore Police Searching For Armed Robber

Police are searching for a male suspect who held up the Lake Elsinore AM-PM mini mart on Diamond Drive.

Police are searching for an armed robber who held up a Lake Elsinore AM-PM mini mart at gunpoint Monday evening.

At approximately 5:30 p.m., deputies from the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station responded to a call regarding a robbery that had just taken place at the AM-PM store located at 250 Diamond Drive. According to witnesses, the suspect “produced a handgun and demanded cash from the register,” said Deputy Angel Ramos of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

The cashier complied with the suspect’s demands and the robber subsequently fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, the deputy said.

Police are actively searching for the suspect and no arrests have been made at press time.

No one was hurt during the robbery, but the storeowner told Patch that the hold up “was very, very frightening.”

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male of unknown age, approximately 5’2” to 5’5” in height, about 140 pounds, wearing black pants, black hooded sweatshirt, and black gloves; he also wore a black bandana to cover his face during the hold-up, according to Deputy Ramos.
