A man who allegedly “posed” as a construction
worker is being accused by police of conning unsuspecting customers, and more potential victims are being sought by detectives.
Reynaldo Rodriguez, 31, was arrested Dec. 10 at 10:30 a.m. on Riverside Drive at Joy Street and booked on suspicion of 20 felony charges, including residential burglary, diversion of funds, committing crimes against a senior/or child under 14, and probation violation, jail records show.
According to Lt. Zach Hall of the Lake Elsinore Police Department, the alleged fraud totals more than $80,000.
“Once a quote was provided and monies were paid, Rodriguez either completed very little work or no work at all,” Hall reported. “Rodriguez conducted business under the name ‘R&R Construction’ or ‘Ray’s Hardscapes.’”
Rodriguez was booked into Southwest Detention Center and is being held on $250,000 bail, jail records show.
The Lake Elsinore Police Department is continuing to investigate Rodriguez and is searching for any additional victims.
“If you were victimized by Rodriguez, please contact Investigator McClanahan at (951) 245-3358, or by email at LakeElsinoreStation@RiversideSheriff.org,” Hall requested.
