Lake Elsinore Woman Arrested For Burglary

Lake Elsinore resident Melissa Sirignano, 28, was allegedly taking orders for items from friends, shoplifting the requested merchandise from local Walmart and Target stores, and then selling the stolen goods for half price.

A Lake Elsinore woman who allegedly made a profit by stealing from local big box stores and selling the ill-gotten goods is behind bars.

Melissa Sirignano, 28, was arrested Oct. 31 after the Lake Elsinore Police Department's Burglary Suppression Team assisted Walmart loss prevention officials with an investigation into her alleged criminal activities.

Police say the investigation revealed Sirignano was taking orders for items from friends, shoplifting the requested merchandise from local Walmart and Target stores, and then selling the stolen goods for half price.

Sirignano, who was out on bail for allegedly stealing from the Lake Elsinore Target store on Oct. 20, was in possession of over $5,000 of stolen items from Walmart when she was collared on Halloween, according to police.

Sirignano was arrested and booked into Southwest Detention Center for 12 counts of burglary, possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools and committing a felony while out on bail.
