Lake Elsinore Women Charged In Stabbings

Lake Elsinore residents Judit Lisbex Gutierrez and Karla Duran, both 19, were arrested Wednesday night after allegedly attacking three women in the 500 block of Lakeshore Drive.

Two young women allegedly involved in a stabbing attack in Lake Elsinore last week have been charged with assault resulting in great bodily injury.

Lake Elsinore residents Judit Lisbex Gutierrez and Karla Duran, both 19, were arrested Wednesday night after allegedly attacking three women in the 500 block of Lakeshore Drive.

Gutierrez, who is being held in lieu of $65,000 bail at the Southwest Detention Center in Murrieta, is slated to make her initial court appearance today at the Southwest Justice Center. Duran is not scheduled to appear until Aug. 29 and has been released on $25,000 bail, according to court and jail records.

The women were arrested by sheriff's deputies on the lookout for them following the stabbings about 10:15 p.m. Wednesday, according to a report from Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. David Cardoza.

Sheriff's deputies were called to Lakeshore Drive to investigate the attacks, Cardoza wrote in a news release. They determined that the women had gone there to meet with someone else to discuss some domestic situation; that person brought three other people and a fight ensued, culminating in the stabbings, officials said.

A description of the suspects' vehicle was broadcast to other law enforcement officers and deputies searched the surrounding streets, catching up with the vehicle on Lakeshore, near Riverside Drive, Cardoza reported.

The victims were expected to recover, the sergeant said.
