Lakeside High School Student Arrested On Campus

Ricardo Espinoza, 18, was arrested around 1 p.m. for "assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a knife on school grounds and terrorist threats," police are reporting.

The Lake Elsinore Police Department is reporting that a Lakeside High School student was arrested Monday for allegedly having a knife on campus and threatening another student.

Ricardo Espinoza, 18, was arrested around 1 p.m. for "assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a knife on school grounds and terrorist threats," the report stated.

According to the report, a school resource officer from the Lake Elsinore Police Department responded to an assault that had occurred on campus. Further investigation revealed Espinoza “threatened to do great bodily injury to another student if this student did not apologize to a female student,” according to the report.

Espinoza was booked into the Southwest Detention Center where he remains at press time. His bail has been set at $25,000, according to jail records.

He is due to appear in court tomorrow at 8 a.m., according to the jail records.
