Local Firefighters Asking Community To Help 'Fill The Boot'

The following is a news release from Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department:

Since 2008, CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters have raised and donated over $550,000 to the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). This year, Friday and Saturday, October 4th and 5th have been designated as the CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire’s “FDA Fill the Boot” fundraiser days.

For years, CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters have helped those affected by this disease by providing neuromuscular clinics at Loma Linda University Medical Center and UCI, as well as sponsored children with Muscular Dystrophy and other related illnesses to attend an unforgettable week at MDA Summer Camp. Funds are also used for research to find a cure for Muscular Dystrophy and more than 40 neuromuscular diseases.

Throughout the County, on October 4th and 5th you will see on-duty personnel as well as off-duty personnel on their own time at the following locations asking the community to help “Fill the Boot”:
