Man Accused of DUI, Killing 2 Women in Corona Crash

The car the man is accused of slamming into while drunk burst into flames, and the driver and her passenger died at the scene, according to the CHP.

A Riverside man who was allegedly drunk when the Lexus he was driving rear-ended another vehicle at 100 miles per hour, killing two women in a fiery freeway crash in Corona, was out of jail Monday after posting a $75,000 bond, jail records show.

Julio Alejandro Reyes, 34, suffered minor injuries and was arrested on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence causing great bodily injury following the crash on the Corona (15) Freeway, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Travis Monks.

Reyes was behind the wheel of a 2014 Lexus GS-350 sedan that was traveling south on the 15 Freeway, south of Hidden Valley Parkway, when it crashed into a 1999 Toyota about 1:20 a.m. Sunday, Monks said.

The Toyota burst into flames, and the driver and her passenger died at the scene, Monks said. The victims' names had not been released as of Monday morning.

One of Reyes' passengers was transported to Riverside Community Hospital with moderate injuries, according to the CHP.

Reyes was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside and posted a $75,000 bond on Sunday.
