Man Arrested For Alleged Illegal Marijuana Cultivation

James Meckley, 59, of Lake Elsinore was arrested at 8:45 Thursday morning.

A man was arrested in Lake Elsinore Thursday morning after being spotted with 50 juvenile marijuana plants inside his pickup truck.

James Meckley, 59, of Lake Elsinore was arrested at 8:45 Thursday morning after a Lake Elsinore Motor Traffic Enforcement Officer stopped him for an expired registration, according to a Lake Elsinore Police Department report.

The incident took place on Riverside Drive, east of Lakeshore Drive.

Meckley was arrested for unlawful cultivation of marijuana and transported to the Lake Elsinore Police Department for further investigation, the report stated.

At press time, it could not be confirmed if Meckley is a member of a legally operated medical marijuana collective.
