A man who was allegedly out on bail was pulled over by police Saturday in the Temescal Valley and arrested on suspicion of drug sales.
Jon Thomas, 49, of Corona was arrested around 6 p.m. at Temescal Canyon Road and Indian Truck Trail in Glen Ivy after deputies from the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station pulled him over for an equipment violation on his vehicle.
Thomas was allegedly driving on a suspended license and was found to be in possession of methamphetamine.
“The vehicle was searched and additional narcotics, narcotic paraphernalia and a digital scale were located inside the vehicle. The total amount of methamphetamine confiscated was approximately 1 ounce,” said Sgt. David Cardoza of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Thomas was arrested on suspicion of possession for sale of a controlled substance, transportation of a controlled substance, commission of a felony offense while out on bail, possession of narcotic paraphernalia, and being under the influence of a controlled substance, Cardoza said.
The sergeant did not say what Thomas had previously been arrested for.
