A Palm Springs man pleaded not guilty today to charges of masturbating at an open window that could be seen from street level.

Robert Joseph Riemer, 36, is facing misdemeanor counts of lewd conduct and indecent exposure, the latter of which would require him to register as a sex offender.

Riemer was arrested Feb. 21 when a woman called police to report that, around 11 p.m., he was masturbating at an apartment window while staring at her, according to Palm Springs police.

Officers began monitoring the apartment in the 2500 block of East Tahquitz Canyon Way, when Riemer reappeared at the sliding glass door of the third-floor apartment and allegedly masturbated again.
