Man Uses Online Dating Site To Lure, Rob Victims

A Perris man is behind bars for allegedly using an online dating site to lure victims for the purpose of robbing them.

Gary Glen House, 20, of Perris is suspected of enticing a man in the pre-dawn hours Sunday to the 2800 block of Jean Marie Way in Perris, according to a news release from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. When the victim arrived at the location, House allegedly approached him armed with a handgun. 

The victim fled on foot before the robbery was completed, the news release read.

The attempted robbery was consistent with a series of robberies in the area of Jean Marie Way, where prior victims were assaulted and personal items were stolen, the release continued.

Perris Police Department investigators served a search warrant at a residence located near the 500 block of Granite View in Perris. At that location, several items of evidence and property belonging to prior victims were located, according to the news release.

House was allegedly connected to the goods and was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit a felony, two counts of robbery and receiving stolen property, according to the news release. He was booked into Southwest Detention Center, where he is currently being held on $240,000 bail.
