Lakeland Village Stabbing: Manhunt Underway For Wildomar Man

Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a Wildomar man suspected of trying to kill a Lakeland Village man.

Matthew Skyberg, 27, is being sought by police after he allegedly tried to kill a 19-year-old Lakeland Village man with a knife.

Police were called to the 33000 block of Garner Road in Lakeland Village at 12:41 a.m. today in response to a stabbing.

“Deputies arrived on scene and located a 19-year-old male who was suffering from several stab wounds to his torso. Cal Fire and AMR ambulance personnel were summoned to the scene to render aid. The victim was transported to the Loma Linda Medical Center in the city of Redlands in critical condition,” according to a news release issued out of the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station.

According to investigators, Skyberg had been involved in a verbal altercation and is a suspect.

“During the argument, Skyberg stabbed the victim with an unknown-type of knife and fled the scene,” according to the news release.

Skyberg is described as a white male adult with a shaved head, 6'04" tall and weighing 170 pounds.

The investigation is continuing and the Lake Elsinore Sheriff's Station is asking the public for information on the whereabouts of Skyberg to contact Investigator Kelleher or Investigator Cornett at (951) 245-3300 or after hours and on weekends at (951) 776-1099.
