Menifee Man And His Female Passenger Killed In Crash

A Dodge Caliber driven by Apolinar Belliard, 51, rolled over and crashed on Saturday morning east of Warren Road. Belliard died at a hospital while his female passenger perished at the crash scene.

A 51-year-old Menifee man and his female passenger were killed when he steered a compact car across Highway 74 in Hemet and slammed into a vehicle on the other side, according to the Riverside County Coroner's Office.     

The Dodge Caliber driven by Apolinar Belliard rolled over and crashed on Saturday morning east of Warren Road. His passenger, a 61-year-old Hemet resident whose name was not released pending notification of relatives, died at the scene, according to coroner's office.

Belliard died at Hemet Valley Medical Center. Neither Belliard nor his passenger wore seat belts, according to the coroner's office.

Firefighters and police officers were dispatched at 11:34 a.m. Saturday to the highway where Belliard traveled east. He steered around a vehicle that was waiting to make a left turn into a gas station, according to the Hemet Police Department.

Belliard crashed into a Honda Pilot with three people inside, police reported. The occupants of the Honda sport utility vehicle suffered minor to moderate injuries, police said. --City News Service
