Motocross Rider Badly Injured at Lucas Oil Park

The rider's heart had stopped beating before medics arrived at Lucas Oil Park, having been called about 9:30 a.m.

A rider suffered critical injuries Saturday at the Lucas Oil Motocross Park, officials said.

The man's heart had stopped beating by the time medics arrived at the scene of the rider down, reported about 9:30 a.m., Cal Fire's Melody Hendrickson reported.

It occurred at 18700 Lake Perris Drive, according to Cal Fire.

The Riverside County Coroner's office had not been called about the case as of Saturday afternoon, an investigator told Patch.

Medics took the rider to an area hospital, Hendrickson said.

The incident was under investigation, Hendrickson said.

I'm confused. Did he die?
Teller of Truth September 16, 2012 at 05:12 AM
@Anthony, don't be so morosely insensitive.

I don't think Anthony is being insensitive-I was confused by the story as well and wondered the same thing.....because the article mentions the coroners office.

That is so scary. My son rides that track a couple times a month. You have to wear all your safety gear! I'm not saying this guy wasn't... But most riders 18 and over usually don't ware chest protectors or neck braces. I think they should be required. I hope he is ok.

Wow stories like this remind me how dangerous rideing can be if you push your limits... I want to know the status of the riders recovery.
Teller of Truth September 16, 2012 at 06:44 PM
The article read that the Coroners Office had NOT been called. Anthony is being insensitive to the parents & relatives that might be reading this blog.

My son John was racing there as well on Saturday. He was one of the first ones to get to Chase to see if he is okay. It has been very difficult for my sons. They would see him at the track. They said Chase was the fastest one on the track. Praying for comfort for the Alessandro family!!
