More Details Emerge On 2 Men Accused In Freeway Chase

Isidro Cuevas, 25, and Johnny Ray Llamas, 25, are behind bars.

More details have emerged on the two men suspected of leading police on a freeway chase early Tuesday morning.

Isidro Cuevas, 25, and Johnny Ray Llamas, 25, were arrested by deputies from the Menifee Police Department at 6:28 a.m. along the northbound 15 Freeway and Magnolia Avenue in Corona after they sped through commuter traffic on the busy interstate.

The two men were on the run after they reportedly stole a car and broke into some homes within the Menifee PD’s jurisdiction.

According to a witness, deputies driving marked Lake Elsinore Police Department patrol cars were also involved in the chase.

The chase ended without incident; there were no injuries reported and both suspects were taken into custody and booked into Southwest Detention Center in French Valley.

Llamas is being held on suspicion of taking a vehicle without an owner’s consent, evading a peace officer/reckless driving, burglary, and receiving stolen property, according to jail records.

Cuevas is being held on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm, receiving stolen property and paraphernalia possession, the records show.

Both men are due to appear in court Thursday. According to jail records, Llamas is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail and Cuevas on $25,000 bail.
