Motorcyclist Plunges Down Ortega Highway in Lake Elsinore

The woman was taken to a hospital for treatment but her medical condition was not disclosed.

Firefighters Saturday rescued a motorcyclist who had fallen 30 feet down a cliff off the Ortega Highway in Lake Elsinore.

The motorcyclist, a woman, suffered moderate injuries in the accident, which occurred near the Ortega Oaks Candy Store and Goods eatery along the road also known as Highway 74.

Firefighters were dispatched to the location at 10:44 a.m. and hiked down the cliff to rescue the woman, who was transported in a stretcher, or Stokes basket, to a waiting ambulance, Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Melody Hendrickson said.
