Mysterious Tank Forces Lockdown At Tuscany Hills Elementary School

According to a Lake Elsinore Police Department report, a call came in about 11:32 a.m. regarding a tank that was found by a citizen on Railroad Canyon near Canyon Hills.

A tank, similar to the size of a scuba tank, forced a lockdown at TTuesday.

According to a Lake Elsinore Police Department report, a call came in about 11:32 a.m. regarding a tank that was found by a citizen on Railroad Canyon near Canyon Hills.

The citizen collected the tank and continued to her destination at Tuscany Hills Elementary School on Summer Hill Lane, the report stated. Once at the school, she contacted the Lake Elsinore Police Department.

For the safety of the school and the surrounding neighborhood, the school was placed on lockdown, the report stated. The area was cordoned off until the tank could be rendered safe.

In addition to the police, Cal Fire also responded to the call and determined the tank was non-hazardous.

School remained in session during the incident, but some students were released via the public park at the rear of the school.
