Needles, Drugs Found During Traffic Stop In Lake Elsinore

Bricen Conklin, 25, and Andrew Hernandez, 21, both of Lake Elsinore, were arrested Wednesday at 3 p.m. in the area of Riverside Drive and Walnut Street.

Two men have been arrested after deputies from the Lake Elsinore Police Department found illegal drugs and hypodermic needles during a traffic stop on the pair.

Bricen Conklin, 25, and Andrew Hernandez, 21, both of Lake Elsinore, were arrested Wednesday at 3 p.m. in the area of Riverside Drive and Walnut Street in Lake Elsinore after deputies pulled them over for a vehicle code violation.

During the stop, deputies noticed both suspects “displayed signs of being under the influence of a controlled substance,” according to a news release from the Lake Elsinore Police Department.

The driver, later identified as Conklin, was found to have an outstanding felony warrant and was under the influence and in possession of a controlled substance, the news release stated. He was also reportedly in possession of needles and syringes and was under the influence of alcohol.

Hernandez, the passenger, was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance and was in violation of his parole, according to the news release.

Both men were arrested and booked at Southwest Detention Center, where they are each being held in lieu of $25,000 bail.
