New Fire Tax Prompts Local Meeting; Assemblyman Kevin Jeffries To Lead

County residents upset over the new fire tax can get more information on what’s being done to change the law during a meeting this week with a local assemblyman.

Assemblyman Kevin Jeffries (R-Lake Elsinore) is hosting the meeting, Sept. 19 at the Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District headquarters, 31315 Chaney Street in Lake Elsinore, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

“This meeting is an opportunity to learn more about the ill-advised -- and possibly illegal -- tax and have questions answered by representatives from Cal Fire and the Board of Equalization,” Jeffries said in a released statement.
