One Killed, One Injured in Corona Explosion

A 50-year-old man was found dead, and another man was taken to a hospital, police said.

A man was killed and another injured in an explosion at a Corona business Tuesday while a welder worked under a tanker truck, police said.

The explosion was reported about 1:55 p.m. at National Distribution Services, 340 N. Grant Ave., Corona police said.

Police said the explosion occurred while employees were welding a petroleum tanker truck, and the cause is unclear.

The business was evacuated following the explosion, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration -- OSHA -- will investigate, according to police.
