UPDATE 5:08 p.m.: According to CHP, a closure is in effect until approximately 5:15 p.m.
Residents attempting to make the afternoon commute home from Orange County on the Ortega Highway will be delayed.
The roadway is shut down due to an injury accident at Mile Marker 13 on the Orange County side, according to a CHP spokeswoman from the agency’s OC communications office.
A motorcyclist went down and suffered injuries; the victim’s condition is unknown, according to the spokeswoman.
The incident was reported shortly after 4 p.m. Friday.
