UPDATE: Paraglider Down West Of Lake Elsinore

The accident was reported to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department at 10:58 a.m. near South Main Divide road and Ortega Highway in El Cariso.

1:30 p.m. UPDATE: The paraglider, an adult male, was rescued and is being transported to an area hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.

Rescue crews are searching for a paraglider who went down in steep, rugged terrain just west of Lake Elsinore.

The accident was reported to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department at 10:58 a.m. near South Main Divide road and Ortega Highway in El Cariso, according to Cal Fire spokeswoman Jody Hagemann.

A CAL FIRE Copter was requested by the Incident Commander to plan for a short-haul rescue due to steep and rugged terrain and landed on scene around 12:45 p.m.

U.S. Forest Service/Cleveland National Forest personnel are assisting with rescue efforts.
